Aiko is a brand founded on friendship. Aiko’s founders, Natalie and Nora, are good friends who share a love for their furry friends. When they both failed to find dog food that met their needs in terms of health, quality and especially sustainability, they decided to make it themselves, and so Aiko was born. Now their furry friends eat delicious, earth-friendly Aiko every day.
Mischa is also known as the Super Sausage. She’s the little love bomb in the pack: She loves everyone and everything, but the greatest love of all is her love for snacks. No sub-standard snack would sneak past her discerning taste-buds! Mischa loves giving kisses, digging HUGE holes, and playing at the beach with her big sister Bambi. People often ask her where she gets the energy to do it all. The answer is Aiko, of course.
Bambi is a strong and independent doggo. Although she’s little, her favourite thing is her huge fatsack, where she rests and reclines until she feels ready for action. In an active mood, her preferred activities include bird chasing and playing like crazy with her friend Rosie. She’s a doting and devoted sister to Mischa and an all round good girl. Her independent scientific taste trials have proven that Aiko is the yummiest food out there. She’ll write up the results as soon as she’s done chasing those birds.
Rosie is a world-champion cuddler and attention seeker. No simple walkies for this over-achiever: she loves hugs, cuddles and RUNNIES. When it’s time for a cuddle, Rosie will let you know. And you better be ready, because this super-size lapdoggie will jump into your lap and claim her rightful place as queen of the world. Is there a secret to being this fit, cute and cuddly? If you let her sit in your lap she’ll whisper in your ear: It’s all because of Aiko!.
We work closely with Dr. Koury, who keeps an eye on the health of all our furry friends. He makes sure that every doggo is in tip-top shape and living her very best life. He also shares our passion for sustainability. He’s the very bestest vet with a heart for pet health.
Lourens has been whipping up the best dog food in the business for 30 years. Because he is so experienced, there’s no question about nutrition or pet health that he can’t answer – that’s why he’s our guru! Lourens ensures that our recipes are as healthy and delicious as they can be, and our dogs agree that he’s doing a great job
Our insect farmer takes care of the insects used in Aiko. They are innovators at heart, always looking for clever solutions that are better for the environment, and we love them for it! They’re also perfectionists, making sure that the farm meets the highest standards and safety requirements.
Our mission is to make a healthy and super tasty alternative to all these old school pet food giants. Our food is prepared from pioneering, sustainable superbugs (protein source) and fresh, organic, local-farmed vegetables.
We are proud of our 100% local pet food. We source all our ingredients and produce our food in South Africa, cutting more CO2 from the supply chain, and investing more in local communities and small businesses.
We lend a hand by supporting local animal shelters. We donate food and assist in adoption drives. We believe it is important to help others who love doggos as much as we do. The more dogs we can help, the happier we are!
